The 245th harvest—and one of Roederer’s finest 🍾

Louis Roederer’s Collection 245 marks the 245th harvest since the house was founded in 1776, and it’s anything but ordinary.

Built around the 2020 vintage (55%), it’s layered with complexity thanks to 35% Perpetual Reserve—a solera-style system where wines from previous vintages are blended and kept “alive,” continuously refreshed each year to add depth and consistency.

Add in 10% oak-aged reserve wines (from top plots including young vines on the Cristal estate), and you’ve got a Champagne with serious character: citrus, nectarine, subtle brioche, oak, smokiness, and chalky finesse.

Beautifully gift boxed, this is a bottle that looks as good as it tastes.

What the experts say about this wine

Mid-light straw colour, shaved almond, bread-crust, icing sugar and parsnip aromas, palate light and lively, with lovely balance and softness, the acidity mild compared to the 2016 vintage while the finish is balanced, very approachable and harmonious. The aftertaste is cleansingly dry and gentle.(2020 base vintage). Drink: 2024-2032.

Restrained green apple, lemon bush and lime, plus light brioche and chalk. Medium to full body with fine, nicely persistent bubbles and good substance on the mid-palate. Almost biting yet polished at the end, with long, refreshing acidity. Lacks a bit of complexity at the moment, but fresh. Best from 2025.
