Albert Mann ‘Clos de la Faille’ Pinot Noir 2022

Alsace Pinot with Burgundian soul 🍒🌿

Albert Mann is one of Alsace’s leading biodynamic estates, producing wines that show both precision and place. While the domaine is best known for its Grand Cru Rieslings, its Pinot Noirs have steadily built a cult following—arguably the most Burgundian expressions to come from Alsace.

The Clos de la Faille is a monopole vineyard (exclusively owned by Albert Mann), planted on steep, south-facing limestone slopes in Wintzenheim. The site is perfectly suited to Pinot Noir, and the 2022 vintage shows it in full voice: sour cherry, raspberry, and wild strawberry meet earthy spice, dried herbs, and a subtle mineral backbone. The palate is silky yet structured, with fine tannins and lifted acidity that carry the flavours through a long, savoury finish.

This isn’t just Pinot Noir “from Alsace”—it’s a terroir-driven red that rivals serious Burgundian crus for complexity and finesse. Elegant now, but with the depth to evolve beautifully in bottle.
