The 2023 Domenica Estate Shiraz is a standout from Beechworth—one of Australia’s most exciting cool-climate regions. Crafted by winemaker Peter Graham (formerly assistant to Rick Kinzbrunner at Giaconda), Domenica is all about finesse, texture and site expression.

This vintage balances ripe dark berries and black pepper with savoury spice, lifted florals, and fine-grained tannins. There’s structure, but also elegance—thanks to thoughtful winemaking, partial whole bunch inclusion, and gentle oak integration.

It’s a style that channels Northern Rhône energy, but with an unmistakably Australian core. If you’re after Shiraz that’s fragrant, detailed and quietly complex, Domenica is a name to know.

What the experts say about this wine

Domenica Estate Shiraz is grown on the South sloping ridge of our vineyard. 2023 was a long, cool growing season producing a classically styled Syrah. 

Blue fruit, violets and a cool stone earthiness. There is a focused and savoury palate with seamless and ripe tannin. Aged in 30% new French hogsheads. This is a wine that will undoubtedly reward those with patience to cellar. The cooler vintages of Domenica continue to improve after ten or more years in bottle, and this wine will undoubtedly be one to enjoy over time.
