What do Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC), Domaine G. Roumier, Newton Johnson, and By Farr have in common? They’ve all shaped the winemaking of Louis Billard—one of the most exciting new names in Burgundy. 

Louis spent 2018 and 2019 at DRC, working with the absolute best in Vosne-Romanée, the most legendary Pinot Noir village in the world. He followed that with stints at Roumier in Chambolle-Musigny (2020), Newton Johnson in South Africa (2021), and By Farr in Australia (2022). In other words, he’s learned from the greatest winemakers across three continents—and now, he’s bringing that expertise back home. 

The 2022 Louis Billard Volnay Premier Cru “En Chevret” Pinot Noir is fermented in ex-DRC barrels, delivering all the silky finesse, layered spice, and red-fruited elegance you’d expect from one of Burgundy’s most prized terroir.
