Cool-climate class with serious pedigree đâ°ď¸
Fresh off being crowned White Wine of the Year 2025 by The Real Review, the 2023 Applejack Vineyard Chardonnay cements Giant Stepsâ place among Australiaâs elite producers.
Sourced from the high-altitude, cool-climate Applejack Vineyard in the Upper Yarra, this is a site that delivers drive, precision, and tension in every vintage. The 2023 release is no exceptionâbrimming with citrus, stone fruit, and flinty minerality, wrapped in fine oak and racy acidity.
Giant Steps has become a benchmark Yarra Valley producer, with 35+ trophies, 100+ gold medals, and a seven-time winner of Wine & Spiritsâ Top Wineries of the Year. Most recently, they were named 2025 Halliday Winery of the Year, with the matching Applejack Pinot Noir taking out Halliday's Pinot Noir of the Year.
This Chardonnay is a masterclass in site expression, structure, and finesseâdestined for cellars, yet dangerously drinkable now.
The finer stuff!

Light bright yellow in the glass with creamy pastry, spiced nectarine and lemon aromas and flavours, the palate intense and compact, tightly focused and long... Refreshing acidity. Superb now, even better with a bit more age on it.
96 points - The Wine Front
Anything Applejack Vineyard Pinot Noir can do, Applejack Chardonnay can do just as well. This is a ripping chardonnay... Thereâs some dare to the acidity but it brings flavour with it; it took the risk and it turned out, the reward was worth it. This is an advanced level wine. You drink it, and you know all you need to know.
96 points - Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion
The palate is tightly coiled, steely, saline and focused. A wine with excellent potential.
