Iconic Aussie Shiraz, with Barossa soul đŸ·đŸ”„

Rockford Basket Press is one of Australia’s most collected reds. A First Classified (First Growth) in Langton’s Classification, it’s chased vintage after vintage—right up there with Penfolds Grange and Henschke Hill of Grace.

The 2021 is classic Basket Press: sourced from dry-grown Barossa vineyards aged 60 to 130 years and made using traditional basket press techniques. It’s all about purity and structure—spicy, earthy, layered, and powerful.

With limited production and serious aging potential, this is one of the country’s most collectible Shiraz releases—and a must-have for any serious cellar.

What the experts say about this wine

Medium-deep red with a trace of purple in the rim; the bouquet suggests meaty, spicy, earthy/terracotta and forest underbrush nuances. Cranberry on the tongue. Full bodied and fleshy with good extract and plenty of firm tannin bringing on the finish and then a lingering aftertaste. A more savoury style of Barossa shiraz with earthy drying tannins and subtle richness.
